ORU Adds Chris Wallace to Women's Basketball Coaching Staff

Oral Roberts head women's basketball coach Misti Cussen has announced the addition of Chris Wallace as an assistant coach who begins official duties with the Golden Eagles on Thursday. 

Wallace has been the boys' varsity head coach at N.O.A.H (Northeastern Oklahoma Association of Homeschool) since 2011. Under Wallace the Jaguars won their first ever regional championship and finished third at the National Homeschool Tournament – the highest ever finish for the program.

ORU's Jankovic to Coach With Serbian National Team



Oral Roberts University assistant women’s basketball coach Bojan Jankovic will once again
serve on the coaching staff of the Serbian national team, it was announced today. Jankovic will be an assistant coach for the Serbia team that plays in four tournaments this year, including the 2014 FIBA World Championship in Turkey.

“It’s a tremendous honor to once again represent Serbia and ORU at the highest level of international basketball,” said Jankovic. “We were very successful last year, and I look forward to helping my country achieve even greater accomplishments this season.”

Jankovic was an assistant for Serbia in 2013, helping lead the country to a 4th place finish at the 2013 FIBA European Women’s Championship. The semifinal appearance was the first in Serbia’s history, and it earned the nation a spot in the FIBA World Championship for the first time since 2002.

ORU's Allen Selected for Great Britian Olympic Team

Oral Roberts University women’s basketball alumnus Dominique Allen will represent her native country of Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, as confirmed today by the British Olympic Association. Allen is the first member of the ORU women’s basketball program to compete at the Olympic Games.

Fellow 2012 alumnus Georgia Jones was a member of Great Britain’s Olympic training camp, but did not make the final cut.

Allen played in 107 games over her four-year career at ORU. The Birmingham, England native averaged 3.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, and she participated on two Summit League regular season championship squads.

ORU Receiving Votes in Preseason AP Poll

Oral Roberts University received a pair of votes in the Associated Press Preseason NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball poll, it was announced today. The Golden Eagles are the only Summit League team to be listed in the poll.

Earlier this month, the Golden Eagles were tabbed as preseason Summit League favorites in the official League poll.

ESPN2 to Televise Team USA Pan Am Matchup

USA Basketball has announced that the Women’s National Team Pan American Games matchup vs. Mexico, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23 at 8 pm CT, will air live on ESPN2. The game features Oral Roberts University junior guard Kevi Luper.

In addition, should Luper and Team USA qualify for the semifinals, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24, ESPN2 will air the game either live or on a brief tape delay. Depending on seeding, the game would start at either 1 pm or 8 pm CT.

Information on potential broadcasts of Team USA’s other group stage games, including Friday, Oct. 21 against Argentina and Saturday, Oct. 22 against Puerto Rico, has not been announced. Broadcast information for Medal Round games on Oct. 25 has also not been released.

Oral Roberts' Allen and Jones Represent Great Britian at World University Games

A pair of Oral Roberts women’s basketball players were selected to play in the 2011 World University Games. Both Dominique Allen and Georgia Jones are representing their homeland, competing for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland team.  Click here to read more.
