SDSU President Chosen as NCAA, Summit League Representative

South Dakota State President David Chicoine is now representing the Summit League on the NCAA Presidential Advisory Group, beginning this year.

The group, formerly led by Chancellor Charles Bantz of Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis, is a collection of 20 college and university presidents and chancellors that provide input and direction to the NCAA Board of Directors. It is also the most influential group in the governance of Division I.

College Colors Day - Sept. 2

Fans, alumni and students of The Summit League's member institutions are encouraged wear their favorite school's apparel Friday, Sept. 2, as part of the nationwide College Colors Day. 
The "holiday" is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that make the college experience great by encouraging people across America to wear apparel of their favorite college or university throughout the day.


The Summit League invites fans to show their spirit and send photos from College Colors Day to pics@thesummitleague.org for use in a fan photo gallery on www.thesummitleague.org. Check the new Summit Points Blog next week to see which school had the most support on College Colors Day.

Former NDSU Baseball Player Called Up by Oakland Athletics

Former North Dakota State University closer Neil Wagner was called up by the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday, Aug. 30.  He is the first big-leaguer in program history.


Wagner played three seasons for North Dakota State from 2003 to 2005 going 11-4 overall with a 4.70 ERA.  He set school records for saves in a season (12) and career (18).
