Kangaroos Help Ring In F.R.E.D. Book Club At Bentwood Elementary

When the Kansas City women's basketball teamvisited Bentwood Elementary in Olathe, Kan., their goal was to help deliver Dr. Seuss' message, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

Using their status as role models to the students, the 'Roos helped send the message by discussing what their favorite books were when they were younger, while senior forward Kim Nezianya made up a story using clues presented by her 'Roo teammates.

NDSU's Hoops for Hannah Baskets

North Dakota State University women's basketball player Hannah Linz will begin treatment soon for the recurrence of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

NDSU student-athletes have rallied for Hannah and are asking for goodwill donations. Those interested are asked to place your offering in a "Hoops for Hannah" baskets during any or all of the remaining home events starting with Thursday's basketball game against IUPUI.

Former 'Roo Named MVP of British Basketball League Finals

Former Kansas City guard Jay Couisnard, a second team All-Summit League selection in 2010-11, led his team to the British Basketball League Championship and was named MVP of the BBL Finals. Couisnard scored a team-high 17 points for the Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders in an 85-80 victory over the Newcastle Eagles.

College Sports Madness Picks Its Preseason All-Summit Teams

College Sports Madness has selected its preseason all-league teams for The Summit League as the site continues the countdown to the 2013 softball season.

North Dakota State won three of the four league's individual preseason honors as Krista Menke was tabbed the Pitcher of the Year, Logan Moreland was picked the Freshman of the Year and Darren Mueller was selected as Coach of the Year.  Oakland's Ericka Polidori was picked the Field Player of the Year.
