NDSU's Anderson Highlighted in Fargo Forum

A year of golf that saw Amy Anderson make the cut in the U.S. Women’s Open and ended with a highly acclaimed international tournament in Scotland was summarized in one award that was announced on Thursday. The North Dakota State junior was named the Summit League’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

It’s an honor that the conference advertises as its most prestigious. And she’ll have less than 24 hours to think about it on U.S. soil.

Former UMKC Guard Inks Pro Contract in Europe

Former UMKC player Reggie Chamberlain signed a professional basketball contract in Sweden. The guard will play for the Norrkoping Dolphins beginning in August. Chamberlain finished the 2011-12 season ranked seventh nationally with a 47.1 three-point field goal percentage. Read the complete UMKC release here.

ORU's Allen Selected for Great Britian Olympic Team

Oral Roberts University women’s basketball alumnus Dominique Allen will represent her native country of Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, as confirmed today by the British Olympic Association. Allen is the first member of the ORU women’s basketball program to compete at the Olympic Games.

Fellow 2012 alumnus Georgia Jones was a member of Great Britain’s Olympic training camp, but did not make the final cut.

Allen played in 107 games over her four-year career at ORU. The Birmingham, England native averaged 3.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, and she participated on two Summit League regular season championship squads.
