First baseman Jared Schlehuber,
the 2012 Summit League Player of the Year, has signed a free agent
contract with the Kansas City Royals organization. Details of the
contract were not released.
Schubert agreed to terms with the organization and made the trip up
to Idaho Falls, Idaho on Thursday. After passing the physical, the two
parties signed the contract, making him the third Golden Eagle to sign a
professional contract this year after Cam Schiller (Texas Rangers) and Bennett Pickar (Detroit Tigers) each signed with their respective teams after being selected in the 2012 MLB Draft.
